NTIS Discontinues Digital-On-Demand Services October 18, 2016 As of October 1, 2016, the National Technical Reports Library (NTRL), a repository for technical reports from government agencies produced by the NTIS, has discontinued it digital-on-demand services, where users could request reports that were not available in full text to be digitized and made available in the database. New InterLibrary Services Coordinator August 25, 2016 The Library is pleased to announce Dolly Lopez is the Library’s new InterLibrary Services Coordinator. This position was previously occupied by recently retired UCM original staff member Denise Sawatzky. As InterLibrary Services Coordinator, Dolly will manage UC Merced’s resource sharing activities with the other UC libraries and libraries worldwide. Dolly has been working at UC Merced as the InterLibrary Services Assistant since April 2013, and previously worked for 3 years in the ILL department as a student at UC Davis. Dolly earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Development from UC Davis and is currently enrolled in the San Jose State University’s Master of Library and Information Science program. NCBI will be transitioning to using HTTPS-only protocols August 18, 2016 NCBI, the host server for the PubMed database and others, will be transitioning to using HTTPS-only protocols on September 30, 2016. This change may impact software that uses NCBI APIs such as the E-utilities or NCBI software toolkits such as the C/C++ and SRA toolkits. |
